Terence L. Horan, CLU, ChFC, President and CEO of HORAN, leads an energetic and focused team of professionals to deliver the most current and comprehensive services.  The products offered include wealth management, retirement planning services, financial and estate planning, life and health insurance and employee benefits consulting. 

Seasoned by 38 years experience in financial services, Terry represents his clients with credentials that include being a Chartered Life Underwriter, a Chartered Financial Consultant and an Accredited Estate Planner.

Terry will serve as Managing Principal of HORAN Capital Advisors, providing strategic oversight and direction.

Mark Bennett, CFA, Principal & Portfolio Manager, is a senior strategist and advisor at Horan Capital Advisors. He has extensive experience collaborating with high net worth and institutional clientele characterized by managing portfolios with an asset base of $1 billion.

Mark has been in the investment business for over 28 years and feels that the most rewarding aspect of his career is achieved by earning the status of "true trusted advisor" from his clients.  Mark has significant experience in portfolio management, securities analysis, tax and wealth transfer strategies and overall financial planning.

Before joining HORAN Capital Advisors, Mark spent seven years with a super regional bank where he worked with many of the firm's most important and influential clients.  Prior to that time, Mark spent 20 years in New York City as a Managing Director for Deutsche Bank/Bankers Trust where he developed portfolio strategies for many of the firm's most affluent clients.

During his years in New York, Mark was a member of a U.S. equity strategy group that selected stocks and developed strategy for a $24 billion U.S. private bank.  He also managed a $300 million large capitalization equity growth fund for seven years.


David Templeton, CFA, Principal & Portfolio Manager, is a senior strategist and advisor at HORAN Capital Advisors. David has extensive experience in portfolio construction, security selection, development of investment policies and portfolio allocation strategies for clients.  He has a long history providing these strategies for clients with roughly $700 million under management.  David also has extensive experience in overall financial planning and wealth transfer strategies.

Before joining HORAN Capital Advisors, David spent seven years as a Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager for high net worth client relationships with a super regional bank.  Prior to 2002, David was a Vice President and portfolio manager for a regional bank's charitable and endowment group and retirement and investment services group.

He began his banking career in 1984, working in commercial and retail banking.


Nick Reilly, Principal & Portfolio Manager, completes the circle of highly experienced investment professionals at HORAN Capital Advisors.  Nick specializes in the unique areas of portfolio construction and risk management strategies.

Prior to joining HORAN Capital Advisors, Nick spent his years with a super regional bank where he established the alternative investment platform.  This integrated platform consisted of equity option solutions, structured products, exchange funds, commodity funds, hedge funds and private equity.

Nick's career began as an options market maker on the Chicago Board Options Exchange where he managed private money in order to maximize portfolio returns and minimize risk. His responsibilities included volatility trading and the identification of market arbitrage.

 

Ryan McConeghy, Investment Associate, provides administrative, research and client support for HORAN Capital Advisors.  He applies financial insight and securities knowledge to evaluate investment strategies relative to current and prospective clientele.

Ryan is currently a Level 2 candidate in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program, a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing and promoting the highest educational, ethical, and professional standards in the investment industry.

Prior to joining HORAN Capital Advisors in 2011, Ryan held analyst positions with a middle-market mergers and acquisitions firm, as well as, for a private investment fund where his research was focused on the industrials sector.  He is also an accomplished musician, having toured professionally for over ten years.

Napier, CFP®, Director of Financial Planning, Mike Napier, Director of Financial Planning, helps clients in the crafting of detailed financial plans.  As a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a Fiduciary, his focus is to assist individuals and families with all aspects of their financial future.  Mike’s expertise includes estate and income tax planning, retirement income analysis, risk management, education planning/funding and investment asset allocation.  He has been in the financial services industry since 1999 and joined the team of advisors at HORAN in December 2010.

Mike strives to earn trust through “high touch” service, education, and providing independent and objective recommendations.  He creates detailed and personalized financial plans and, if necessary, will coordinate with other industry professionals such as attorneys, accountants or private banking representatives.  Prior to joining HORAN, Mike worked for Wealth Planning Corporation in Cincinnati where he constructed financial plans, chaired the firm’s Investment Committee and oversaw the firm’s income tax department.

Chief Financial Officer

Kurt Krebs, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations. He provides leadership and coordination in the company’s administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts. Kurt provides due diligence to create, coordinate and evaluate the financial programs and supporting information systems of the company to include budgeting, tax planning, real estate and conservation of assets.

Kurt serves on planning and policy-making committees to ensure company compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements. While implementing the strategic business and operational plans, he establishes short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.

With industry experience since 1996, Kurt’s expertise includes: Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, Risk Management and Big 4 Public Accounting.

Chief Operations Officer

Mary Ann Weber, Chief Operating Officer, joined HORAN in 2003 with over 35 years of accounting and management experience. As COO, she is responsible for firm operations, benefits administration, human resources and market development. Mary Ann provides continual support to the managing partners to ensure efficient communication and consistent customer service.

Prior to Mary Ann’s association with HORAN, she managed the operations of a computer consulting firm that used the services of HORAN for their employee benefits. Mary Ann also acquired valuable management and human resource experience as owner and operator of her own business for four years.

Assistant Controller

Pat Chapman, Assistant Controller, joined HORAN in March 2010, with 25 years of accounting experience.  Pat performs a variety of accounting activities while maintaining the strictest confidentiality of data.  She performs company payroll, general ledger account maintenance and serves as backup for accounts payable and securities accounting.

Pat’s previous experience includes expertise in the various accounting functions of manufacturing, non-profit and government services.

IT Manager

Paula Collum, IT Manager, oversees the administration and maintenance of computer stations and software while providing additional support when necessary. She helps resolve IT related issues and provides answers in a timely manner.

Paula has been with HORAN since 2000 and is part of the HORAN Client Relationship Management team, which is charged with creating and implementing database best practices.

Receptionist

Charmagne Robinson, Receptionist, manages the lobby area, greets visitors, handles incoming calls and performs general administrative duties. She assists other administrative staff with overflow work, including word processing, data entry and internet research tasks.

Charmagne has been with HORAN since 2003 and previous roles include Service Representative and Executive Assistant.

Network Administrator

Greg Kroeger, Network Administrator, oversees computer networks to ensure seamless functionality throughout the company. He configures and manages the existing network by connecting the necessary hardware and software. Greg is responsible for monitoring the performance of the network and troubleshooting problems.

Vice President of Marketing

Cheryl Campbell, Vice President of Marketing, is a veteran marketing, public relations, and corporate communications executive.  She plans, develops, and implements HORAN's marketing strategies, communications and public relations activities and assures consistent communication of the HORAN message.

Most recently, Cheryl served as the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden where she was responsible for marketing, public relations, and corporate sponsorships.  As Vice President of Public Relations and Corporate Communications for Convergys Corporation and Cincinnati Bell, she served as the senior communications executive and strategist.  Cheryl successfully led external and internal communications strategies and managed both international and domestic operations.

In 2003, Cheryl was honored by the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati as one of the greater Cincinnati area's eight Career Women of Achievement.  She was appointed by Cincinnati Mayor Roxanne Qualls to serve as the Chairman of the Mayor's Commission on Children and served on the Business Advisory Board of the College of Mt. St. Joseph.  Cheryl was also a contributing author for the book, Some Leaders are Born Women.

Assistant Marketing Director

Emily Frizzi, Assistant Marketing Director, manages market research, web site strategy, collateral development, special events, trade shows, and client communication. She provides direct marketing strategy and support to the sales team and supervises company communication pieces.  Emily utilizes her teaching experience to conduct presentation skill workshops to HORAN employees.

Prior to joining HORAN in August 2009, Emily worked for Intrinzic Marketing & Design where she lead clients in developing their marketing and branding strategy and KnowledgeWorks Foundation where she helped plan and manage communication and public relations efforts.
