HORAN’s Karen Mueller Honored with Butler County United Way’s Otis Briggs Outstanding Volunteer Award

HORAN’s Karen Mueller, CBC, Executive Vice President at HORAN, received the Otis Briggs Outstanding Volunteer Award at the Butler County United Way’s annual “Day of Caring” on Friday, April 26, 2013. The award was first established in 1996 in honor of the award’s name sake, Otis Briggs, former executive director of the Butler County United Way from 1943-1976. “United Way’s work can be summarized into four words: Give today, change tomorrow,’” said board chair Mueller. “The change we need to see would not be possible without our amazing volunteers.” Mueller joined Butler County United Way in 2007 and currently serves as board’s chairperson. “Both professionally and personally, Karen is involved with numerous organizations that foster strategic alliances designed to create mutually beneficial partnerships,” said Shelly Wallpe, last year’s Otis Briggs Outstanding Award recipient. “Karen is a keen listener and creatively crafts responses to the challenges of today and the future.” Karen is also the Chairperson of the West Chester Chamber Alliance Board of Trustees and serves on the Baden High School Advisory Board, chairing their Development Committee.
