Julie Highley Business Woman of the Year Award Finalist

Julie Highley, Senior Vice President of Group Sales at HORAN, was a Finalist for the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce Business Woman of the Year Award. The award recognizes women business leaders who are influential in their companies, industries and communities, and are shaping the economic future of Clermont County through their contributions.

The awards luncheon was on June 7 at Receptions in Eastgate. Sheila Gray from Good Morning Cincinnati served as emcee and Angela Byers, Special Agent in charge of the FBI's Cincinnati Division was the keynote speaker.

Julie, a resident of Clermont County, leads the Sales Organization at HORAN to deliver the most innovative products, competitive rates and best possible value. Her team has met and exceeded sales goals, year after year.

Julie started working at HORAN more than 20 years ago when the firm had 10 employees. During her employment she has pursued many roles. The most notable are starting the Small Business Team, where she was responsible for sales and service; creating and leading the sales organization for Employee Health Benefits; and her current role of leading sales for all of HORAN. In this role, Julie created a new sales process for the entire company, which has doubled sales over the past five years.

Julie is also a member of the Leadership team.  As part of this group, she helps sets a positive tone and nurturing environment. She demonstrates the values of the company to employees and was a key contributor to HORAN winning Cincinnati Business Courier’s Best Place to Work in 2009 and 2015. Julie is a leader, mentor and great example to all.

Julie brings her professional experience and keen interest in helping the community to Clermont County. Her specific efforts to help the community in Clermont County are:

  • United Way - Eastern Area Action Council – Chairman
  •  Greater Cincinnati United Way- Executive Committee and Board of Advisors
  • Goering Center – Board of Advisors
  • Kiwanis
  • Leadership Cincinnati – Class 39
  • United Benefit Advisors – Member. Julie has participated in various member education sessions at national conferences and one-on-one meetings with other UBA firms.

Julie has an exceptional attitude and positive spirit. Her strong work ethic and ability to motivate and nurture co-workers is commendable.
